I think it is time for the death of “Apocalypse Now” or there is very little hope for our childrens children. The Other day I was at Starbucks having a conversation with another Multi Level Marketing guy, it seems to be their preferred hunting grounds. He was explaining to me how his grandchildren where frightened by all the End Times books and movies grandpa has, not to mention his constant talk of “Apocalypse Now”. I asked him how he handled their fear, which I thought was very prophetic by the way. He said he explained to them that although the Apocalypse was near, according to his understanding of the scriptures, Chuck after all couldn’t be wrong! They where all going to heaven, which after all was a much better place, right? Can you see I asked him that your grandchildren are looking for your belief in the future that lies before them right here and now? The message of Jesus Christ is about the unfolding of God’s Kingdom, here and now “on Earth as it is in Heaven” and not some day over the rainbow. He pondered for a moment but years of indoctrination kicked in, just as they are designed to do. I was assured that they had all accepted Jesus as their “Personal Savior” and all was well. So he will continue, along with a great number of Christians to stand on a street corners yelling “Apocalypse Now” like some prophet of doom from The Stand. Mean while the world looks for answers and solutions, for a Messiah who is manifesting and not hiding in the clouds. Life goes on as God intended it, looking for people to contribute to a better future for all the generations to come. Yes I say it’s long past time for the death of “Apocalypse Now” as a worldview.
